IMPORTANT UPDATE !!

I hope for most of us this is common sense!?!?

Head office have implemented a site-wide ban on the use and sale of disposable barbecues across their entire network due to extreme wildfire risks and dry ground conditions.

This includes all event and locations, including THS Meets and CS sites

Current Restrictions

• Disposable BBQs: Completely prohibited from use on all club grounds and removed from on-site shop inventories.

• Open Campfires & Fire Pits: Generally restricted or banned during dry spells to prevent grass scorches and stray embers. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Allowed Alternatives

• Gas BBQs and Stoves: Typically permitted if they are properly raised off the ground (often a minimum of 300mm) and used responsibly.

• Raised Stand-alone BBQs: Allowed by some individual parks providing they stand well clear of the dry turf, though rules vary by local fire risk levels.

Whilst fire buckets / fire fighting equipment external is not currently mandatory unless specifically requested, it is common sense in weather like this to ensure that you have a means of firefighting readily available outside of your unit. Whilst we appreciate that one bucket is not amazing a run of fellow campers all with available fire fighting resources may just be enough to prevent a disaster !!
